Happy Birthday, Mommy! Now can I go to the beach with my friend, Aiden? Thanks!! --Love, Jenna

The cool thing about being two is that even if it's mommy or daddy's birthday - you still get a gift. Check out this hip new outfit that came from Grandma (to help celebrate mommy & daddy's birthdays, of course).

ANAHEIM, CA - I had to drop something off at the stadium this morning so I figured, why not take Jenna and let her run around a bit? Aunt Julie is mad because I taught Jenna to say, "Angels stink!" while holding her nose...Hey - until recently, they did. Now Aunt Julie is working on "Go Angels!" which seems to be going fine, except every now and then she'll see a baseball player on the T.V. and shout out (unprompted), "Aim-dels Nink!!" At least I get a kick out of it, anyways...

FULLERTON, CA - Jenna's mommy won Teacher of the Year at Maple School for 2005-2006! Pics are from the banquet that was held to honor her on Thursday night. Jenna's mommy rocks!!

Jenna recently acquired a new sandbox (thanks to Aunt Julie). However, if you're 2, it's pronounced "Dan-Bots." It's shaped like a big green turtle and is the perfect size for Jenna. She enjoys using her sand toys to rake and build things, and enjoys it even more if you do it for her. She isn't shy about letting you know she's ready to go in her sandbox (dan-bots) even if it's 7:30 a.m.

FULLERTON, CA - "Miss Cool" on our way to Shirley's house...

Shortly after this pic was taken, she put her glasses up on top of her head (just like Aunt Julie wears them!)

NEWPORT BEACH, CA - Happy Memorial Day...we decided to "beat the rush" to the beach and get there by 10 a.m. Only problem is, the rush is probably from 8:30 - 9:30. We had to hunt for a parking space for a bit, but otherwise had quite a fine time.

Jenna just wanted to dig in the sand at first, but by the end of the day she was waist deep in the "oh-shun." She found lots of seashells and made a couple sand crabs with her new toys...all in all she was quite busy, so busy that once she got home she took a 4 hour nap - woohoo!

Time for the annual trip to the San Diego Zoo, but forgot the camera...oops. We bought a disposable camera at the Zoo, but it might be a bit before we get the pictures back.

Stories and highlights to follow once we get the pictures back...we'll see if any of them turned out...

We went to Fullerton Railroad Days on Saturday. As you may know, the Amerige brothers convinced railroad agent George Fullerton to route the tracks through their town -- and the economic future of this developing town was secure. For more information on the annual event you can go here.

We got there about 10 a.m. which was too late for the pancake breakfast, but too early fro the tri-tip sandwich. After a quick tour of the booths, Jenna decided she wanted to watch the model trains run for a bit.

Her favorite part was when the trains would travel through the tunnels, to which she would shout, "Unna, unna, unna!!" (Translated this means, "under," which she also says anytime she finds herself beneath the kitchen table). We toured the BNSF Diesel Locomotive (Jenna rang the bell) and a couple other cars that are currently being restored. Jenna got to ride the "Kiddie-Train" in her newly acquired engineer hat (pink, of course).

Finally, at about 12:15 we decided to look for some lunch, but went "off-campus" to do so. It had been a while since we had all been to Heroes, and since it was within walking distance we headed back across Harbor Blvd. We like Heroes because of their "healthy" portions - which I suppose is actually "un-healthy" since we usually get burgers and fries. This time, though, I went with the side of fruit, since I knew Jenna could have some too.

After Heroes, we headed home for naps - it had been quite a morning, after all...

We went to the Orange County Family Pet Expo last weekend. Notable only because, well, we don't own a pet. We just went because we thought it would be a cheap alternative for the zoo. Seriously.

Jenna did like the small petting zoo they had set up. She enjoyed brushing the animals with the supplied hairbrushes...so long as the animals remained still. Any false moves from the big mean goats and she was hiding behind mommy in a flash. We did walk through a couple adoption areas, but gave up that idea when Jenna seemed most interested in the rats. We might break down and get a cat in the next year or so, but I'm pretty sure you won't find any rodents living on the premises any time soon -- not intentionally anyways.

The Princess Turns 2

Our "baby girl" Jenna turned 2 today. She had a party yesterday with a "Dora the Explorer" bounce house for the kids. Jenna had lots of friends there, plus both sets of grandparents, along with Aunt Julie, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Brian and Aunt Rebekah and their beautiful little girl, Isabella. Jenna got to spend the weekend with her cousin, whom she calls, "baby" or "Bella."

Ahhh, but the weekend didn't stop there, as we got to host Easter dinner on Sunday at our house as well. We were trying to figure out how often Jenna's birthday could fall on Easter, and it seems the best we could come up with was that since Easter fall on the 3rd Sunday after the vernal equinox (or something like that) and her birthday is only going to be on a Sunday every 7 years, then this is the only time, ever, that her birthday will be on Easter...or so we think.
